Reliable Child Care in Spring, Texas is preparing to offer Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 programs that may be covered by Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA).
Our program is planned to begin in August 2026, and we’re sharing information early so families can plan ahead with confidence.
What Is TEFA?
Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) is a State of Texas program that may provide funding to help eligible families pay for approved private education programs.
If awarded, TEFA funds are deposited into a parent-managed account and can be used for approved expenses such as:
Tuition
Curriculum and learning materials
Transportation
(provided by a 3rd party)
Funding is awarded by the state and is not guaranteed.
Programs Planned at Reliable Child Care
TEFA funding may be used at Reliable Child Care for:
• Pre-K 3
• Pre-K 4
Programs follow a school-year calendar and a structured daily schedule designed to support school readiness.

Who Can Apply?
Families may apply if their child will be:
• 3, 4, or 5 years old by September 1, 2026
Enrollment priority is typically given to:
• Current Reliable Childcare families
• Siblings of enrolled children
• Community families
The TEFA parent application window is expected to be:
February 4 – March 17, 2026
Parents apply directly through the State of Texas.
Families should begin preparing:
• Parent SSN or ITIN
• Child’s SSN
• Federal tax return (2024 or 2025)
• Proof of Texas residency
Additional documents may be required by the state.

• Offer information and application support sessions
